A Bloods gang member pleaded guilty Tuesday to the slaying of a Long Island teenager, closing the books on a 12-year-old murder case.

It took a dozen years for Trendell Walker to admit he shot and killed Alvin Brother, 15, during a drive-by shooting.

Prosecutors said Walker, now 31, and several fellow gang members devised a plan to go after Brother after he and his buddies tried to rob Walker in 2007.

 

According to court records, Walker and the other armed gang members drove to Bellport, where they saw Brothers and several young people standing on the corner of Post Ave. and Patchogue Ave., and opened fire on the group.

Brothers was shot and died from his wounds.

The Aug. 7, 2007, shooting happened shortly after Brother left a National Night Out Against Crime rally held at a park near his home.

“Today’s plea demonstrates the Department’s unwavering commitment to holding accountable gang members like defendant Walker who show complete disregard for human life,” said U.S. Attorney Richard Donoghue. “This Office and our law enforcement partners will continue working tirelessly to eliminate violent gangs from our communities.”

 

Walker faces a maximum of life in prison.
